SARA Online Catalog

Page history last edited by Linda Holmes 12 years, 8 months ago

The library catalog is called SARA and can be accessed at: http://catalog.brooklaw.bywatersolutions.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-main.pl

SARA can be searched by keyword (any word from the title, corporate author, description or subject heading of the item’s bibliographic record), author, title, chapter, book or journal title, author/book title combination or subject.

Your search results will indicate the room location (i.e., Main) and the call number assigned to the publication that will help you find it on the shelf in that room. By accessing the detailed record for an item, you can:

Confirm that the item is available

Learn when the title is due back if it has already been checked out by someone else

Review the tables of contents of many books

Tab the title to your social bookmarking tool

Text the title to your cell phone for later reference

The detailed record of each publication can be retrieved by clicking on its title in your search results.

SARA tells you when a title was last updated (such as for loose-leaf services) and tells you what issues of periodicals we own (such as for law reviews). The catalog will also indicate the format of the item, i.e.           Printed Material PRINTED MATL Internet resource INTERNET RESOU  microform, audio SOUND RECORD or video VIDEO RECORDIN.

From the catalog’s main menu you can link to an alphabetical listing of databases and e-journals, review recent acquisitions, and download the proxy instructions which allow you to access our electronic titles off campus.

If you have questions about using SARA, please consult a reference librarian.
